Asian Journal of Social Psychology and the AASP Education and Training Committee are organizing an online workshop for members who are interested in developing their skills in reviewing journal articles. You are invited to join us!

Target Audience:
20 early career researchers and advanced graduate students. In case we exceed this number, priority will be given to AASP members who have published at least 1 paper in a peer-reviewed journal.

Date and Time:
2:00 – 5:00 pm (GMT+8 Hong-Kong time), 7 November 2024.

A Zoom link will be sent to participants via email.

Format:
Part 1 of the workshop consists of a brief introduction about the peer-review process, and Part 2 of the workshop involves guided hands-on review exercise.Participants will be sent a paper for the exercise two weeks before the workshop (Oct 24), which will form the basis of Part 2 of the workshop. In Part 3, participants will submit a written review within a week following the workshop and will receive individualized feedback.

Upon completion of all 3 Parts of the workshop, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the AASP which you could proudly indicate in your CV.

Participants will then have the opportunity to review actual manuscripts for AJSP as a reviewer-in-training, with guidance and feedback from an Associate Editor. Once you successfully complete several reviews for AJSP and upon recommendation from an Associate Editor, the Editor-in-Chief will recognize you as an Editorial Fellow of AJSP and will list your names on the AASP and AJSP websites.

Why should I participate?
Reviewing papers is integral to making scholarly contributions to the field. All scholars bear the responsibility to share their expertise with others. One important way to advance science, besides publishing your own research, is by defining what constitutes high-quality research through your reviews. By writing constructive reviews, you help authors make a greater impact to the field. You will also keep yourself up-to-date with others’ research in your field.
